1. Introduction

At BookVerse, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. This Refund Policy outlines our procedures for returns, exchanges, and refunds. By making a purchase from our website, you agree to the terms of this policy.

We reserve the right to modify this policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes to this policy will be posted on this page and will be effective immediately upon posting.

2. Returns and Exchanges

2.1 Return Eligibility

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund of the purchase price (excluding shipping costs). To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, in its original packaging, and with all accessories and tags intact.

Items that are returned more than 30 days after delivery, are opened (except if defective), show signs of use, or are not in their original condition may not be eligible for a refund or may be subject to a restocking fee.

2.2 Non-Returnable Items

The following items cannot be returned:

  • Gift cards
  • Downloadable products
  • Special orders or custom-made items
  • Items marked as "Final Sale" or "Non-Returnable"

2.3 Damaged or Defective Items

If you receive a damaged or defective product, please contact us immediately at returns@bookverse.com. We will provide instructions for returning the item and will cover the cost of return shipping. We may request photographs of the damage or defect to expedite the process.

2.4 Exchanges

If you wish to exchange an item for a different version (e.g., a different edition of the same book), please follow the return process and place a new order for the desired item. If the exchange is due to our error or a defective product, we will cover the shipping costs for both the return and the replacement.

3. Return Process

3.1 Initiating a Return

To initiate a return, please follow these steps:

  1. Email returns@bookverse.com with your order number and reason for return
  2. Our customer service team will review your request and provide you with a Return Authorization Number (RMA) if your return is approved
  3. Pack the item(s) securely in their original packaging, if possible
  4. Include the RMA number on the outside of the package
  5. Ship the package to the address provided in your return authorization email

Please note that you will be responsible for the cost of return shipping unless the return is due to our error (you received an incorrect or defective item) or the product is covered by warranty.

3.2 Return Shipping

For standard returns, you are responsible for paying the shipping costs for returning the item. Shipping costs are non-refundable.

For returns due to our error or defective products, we will send you a prepaid shipping label or reimburse you for reasonable return shipping costs. Please contact our customer service team for instructions before shipping.

3.4 Tracking Your Return

We recommend using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance for returns. We cannot guarantee that we will receive your returned item if it is lost during transit.

4. Refunds

4.1 Refund Processing

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

If approved, your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your original method of payment within 5-10 business days. The time it takes for the refund to appear in your account depends on your payment provider's policies.

4.2 Refund Amounts

For standard returns of new, unopened items within 30 days:

  • Full refund of the purchase price (excluding shipping charges)

For opened items that are not defective or damaged:

  • A restocking fee of 10% may be deducted from your refund

For limited editions, collectible items, or rare books:

  • A restocking fee of 15% may be applied

For damaged or defective items:

  • Full refund including original shipping charges, or
  • Replacement of the same item (if available)

4.3 Late or Missing Refunds

If you haven't received a refund within 10 business days after our confirmation email, please check your bank account again. Then contact your credit card company or bank, as it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.

5. Special Circumstances

5.1 Pre-Orders

Pre-ordered items can be canceled for a full refund at any time before the item is shipped. Once shipped, our standard return policy applies.

5.2 Gift Returns

If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you'll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be emailed to you.

If the item wasn't marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send the refund to the gift giver.

5.3 International Returns

For international orders, please note:

  • You are responsible for any customs fees, taxes, or duties incurred during the return shipment
  • Return shipping costs for international orders are not refundable
  • The processing time for international returns may be longer than domestic returns

5.4 Sale Items

Only regularly priced items may be refunded. Sale items cannot be refunded unless specified otherwise in the terms of the sale or required by applicable law.

6. Cancellations

6.1 Order Cancellation

If you wish to cancel an order, please contact us as soon as possible at orders@bookverse.com. We can only cancel orders that have not yet been shipped. If your order has already been shipped, you will need to follow our return process.

6.2 Refunds for Canceled Orders

If we are able to cancel your order before it ships, we will issue a full refund to your original payment method, including any shipping charges that were applied.
